Kalispell is centrally located at the north end of the Flathead
Valley, 20 miles from Glacier National Park, 12 miles south
of Whitefish and Big Mountain Ski Resort, 10 miles north of
Flathead Lake (the largest natural body of water west of the
Mississippi River), tucked right up against the Rocky Mountains,
Continental Divide, Hungry Horse Reservoir Recreation Area
and Bob Marshall Wilderness. This grand wilderness recreational
wonderland encompasses almost 10,000 square miles, about the
size of the state of Vermont !
Kalispell, Whitefish, Bigfork, and this entire spectacular
Flathead Valley is one of the fastest growing and most popular
areas in the northwestern United States. Population growth
in the Valley went from 119,815 in 2000 to 130,240 for 2005.

Whitefish was already up to a median sale price of $265,000
and Bigfork was close behind at $238,500. 2004 to 2005 (one
year) average appreciation in home prices averaged over twenty

Kalispells elementary and high schools are highly ranked.
The High School was approved for accreditation under the international
Baccalaureate Diploma Program in 2004. Kalispells Flathead
Community College currently has an active enrollment of over
2,100 students. $15.8 million in construction is underway
which will nearly double the size of the campus.
